Super Cool DIY Popsicles
Serve your kids a healthy and delicious popsicle during the day, then turn it into an adult-only “poptail” that evening!
Popsicles are a summer staple for some families. It’s not hard to understand – they’re refreshing and delicious! If you’re a fan of these frozen summertime treats, but aren’t thrilled on serving your family and friends high fructose corn syrup, and other questionable chemicals, follow this easy, do-it-yourself recipe. You’ll save a little money, make healthier popsicles (since you know exactly what’s going in them) that are bursting with seasonal fruity flavor, and have a fun summer activity to do with the family. Plus, we’ll show you how to turn these classic treats into a refreshing adult “poptail!”
You will need:
½ seedless watermelon
1 pint of raspberries; cleaned
1 pint of blueberries; cleaned
3 plums; cleaned and quartered
Popsicle Mold; 6 molds
Tip: Enjoy your popsicle while sipping on prosecco or pour some in your mold for adult popsicles.
- Begin to cut flesh from rind of the watermelon and set in a medium size bowl.
- Place the watermelon flesh into a blender and pulse. Pour liquified watermelon into molds, filling them halfway. Add blueberries, raspberries, and plums to each mold and then continue to fill with blended watermelon.
- Make sure to leave room at the top of the popsicle mold. Do not fill all the way to the top.
