Born strong and tough, Sam King is a great young farmer that’s working hard to take on more responsibility in the production of the crops. Sam mostly works side by side with older brother Tim to learn from the farm’s master of produce and hopefully take on Tim’s role someday. Sam also helps to manage his younger brothers and Tim’s picking crews, and also plays a pivotal part in making sure the traveling farmer’s markets run smoothly.
What is your role on the farm?
I maintain and manage the blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries. I help Tim grow his vegetables while also helping Pete with distribution and sometimes the animals. I also manage away markets. I also help in the home store.
How do you see that role growing or changing in the future?
We planted a total of 450 blueberry plants, 15,000 strawberry plants, 300 blackberry plants, and 150 raspberry plants. So my future is changing because I will have a lot more work and responsibilities.
What is your favorite family memory?
Going to North Carolina with our whole family. Playing football, volleyball and swimming in the ocean. We would go once a year, and I always looked forward to it.
What is your favorite memory from the show?
When our family played Stage 3 (our film crew) in football. We won, obviously.
What do you enjoy about the family business?
I enjoy always having fresh produce and meat all year long. I know where my food comes from. I get to watch it grow.
What is something about you that viewers or customers might be surprised to learn?
I was adopted. Just kidding.
