Tim is a true farmer, as he is the main production manager of crops on Kings Farm and a partner of Freedom Farms. He’s out in the fields tending to every single seedling until they grow into produce that can be harvested. The pressure of producing a healthy harvest may always weighing on Tim’s shoulders, but he’s definitely a tough, strong-willed cookie that works hard to produce the freshest and best tasting local produce around.
What is your role on the farm?
Like everyone in my family I do a bit of everything, but mostly I am the farm boss. I manage about 250 acres. I see and care for every plant that produces the fruits and vegetables that Freedom Farms sells.
How do you see that role changing or growing in the future?
I see myself managing more and making the farm a more organized and productive place. I see our soils becoming healthier every year from composting, crop rotation, my families hard work, and me being more organized.
What is your favorite family memory?
I don’t have a single favorite memory. I have so many good memories with every person in my family. Anytime we are all together, it is great. I have a great family.
What is your favorite memory from the show?
Watching the first episode we ever filmed.
What is your favorite thing to eat that Freedom Farms produces?
My favorite thing to eat is Freedom Farms tomatoes. We grow many varieties but my favorite is our heirloom tomatoes. They are always more flavorful and sweet.
What’s your favorite part about your job?
My favorite part of my job is seeing everything come together. We start with a seed and then see it produce large yields of fruits vegetables. It is an amazing thing to watch.
What is a personal passion you have outside of your job?
I like to spend time with my loved ones. When I have extra time, which is limited, I spend it with them. Usually we hunt or have a cookout.
What do you enjoy about the family business?
I enjoy farming with my family. I enjoy watching our company grow because of our good work ethic and passion for farming.
What have you learned in your position that you can share?
I try to focus on simplifying the farm. There are so many ways to farm, so many methods and techniques, that if you try to do everything you will accomplish nothing. Focus on what has worked for you and build off of that.
What is something about you that viewers or customers might be surprised to learn?
Before Freedom Farms existed, I was going to school to be a teacher.
